Flurazepam is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. This medicine works by affecting chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause insomnia or anxiety.

Flurazepam possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties. It is used to induce sleep and cause relaxation.
